We definitely have some interesting matchups this week and I have two games that I am labelling Top Games I am playing so far this year. They are .....
Miami -3 If you saw my seperate thread, Arizona has never defeated the Fins and that includes their stays in St. Louis and Chicago. Dolphins played well at home two weeks ago and I expect more of the same. This is the second of back to back for Birds and both of them are on the opposite coast. Last week cold, windy, and rainy this week probably 80 degrees. A little bit of contrast there. Dolphins defense will suffocate Cards into submission.
Miami 24 Arizona 7
The second Top Play is ....
St. Louis Rams +1.5 - I don't know where to start here but here it goes. First, NE will be playing the second of back to back road games. They are a beat up football team. Corey Dillon likely out. Half the secondary out. This is not a good thing going into the Dome in St. Louis to play the Rams. This is a game Martz has circled when the schedule came out. Martz will be looking for redemption from Super Bowl lost to Bellichick. In some ways it was the beginning of the end of Martz being thought of as a genius. Rams were looking ahead to this game two weeks ago along with the bye and got beat. If Rams would have beaten Fins they may have been near a touchdown favorite in this one. Rams have lost only one regular season game in the dome in a year in a half. This crowd will be electric and provide a big homefield advantage. In regards to matchups, Pats will be very shorthanded and have no way of handling the Rams 4 and 5 Wide Receiver sets. Rams will take advantage of these matchups but you may be surprised but I think Martz will run Jackson and Faulk more than you think as he believes Bellichick will be looking for Rams to exploit the pass. Rams know they need a win here as Seahawks coming to town next week and they could get a real stranglehold on the division. I respect the Champs but I had this game circled for several weeks and now that it is here it looks better than it did then.
Rams 38 Patriots 24
Now for my average plays:
NY Giants -9-This would be a top play if not for Lovie knowing Warner too well.
San Francisco +7 - I see niners wanting some payback from Hawks ruining their shutout streak earlier this year.
Detroit -3 - Too much Roy Williams in this one
Buffalo +3 - Bills had them on the ropes a few weeks back and will finish the job at home
Denver -5.5 - Broncos will be motivated after losing two in a row to Bengals and Falcons
